Keith Touchberry is proud to currently serve as the Police Chief of the Fellsmere Police Department. Citizens in Fellsmere are guaranteed equal protection under the law and department members will carry out their enforcement responsibilities in a manner that respects these rights and upholds the dignity of all persons.

Vero Beach Police Officer

Vero Beach Police Department

(1989-2013)

Keith served as a Vero Beach officer from 1989 to 2013 until he left as a Captain and second in command to become the police chief in Fellsmere. Chief Touchberry has held numerous assignments throughout his career including patrol, K-9, SWAT, criminal investigations, accreditation, training, supervision and management.

Veteran

United States Marine Corps, United States Army Reserve

Keith served in the armed forces, joining the Army Reserve while still in high school and then ultimately as an active-duty infantryman and light armored vehicle crewman in the Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant.

Criminal Justice Ethics Instructor

Florida Institute of Technology

Chief Touchberry was the primary ethics instructor for the Florida Institute of Technology undergraduate level criminal justice program from 2010 until the degree program was discontinued in 2022.

Advanced Law Enforcement Instructor

Indian River State College

Keith currently serves an an instructor for the Indian River State College criminal justice leader program.

“CORE” and “Future Chiefs” Instructor

Florida Police Chiefs Association

The “CORE” class focuses on Communication, Organization, Roles/Responsibilities and Expectations of an Executive or Administrative Assistant for law enforcement. The “Future Chiefs” class focuses specifically on preparing attendees for a police chiefs position, or a chief executive position in law enforcement and how best to direct your professional development to reach this leadership position.
